Life Plans.

Love Nadia.

Love Selah, teach him to love, cook eggs, sing, dance, survive.

Kidnap Isaiah from the NICU. Teach him the same.

Travel all over the world, a tireless bird, a cartographer.

Create visiting artist/writer program and be awarded: studio space/stipend/ living allowance/ teach 2 classes.

Language acquisition longitudinal study and report-5 years, renewable contract, great health care.

Revolutionize the public education system through discussion, subtraction of authority teacher, community as center, lived experience as primary text.

With blood, sweat, and tears, build a 3 floor brownstone that faces the East River on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other, write, paint.

Know my neighbors as brothers, their children as nieces and nephews.

Ice cream for breakfast every morning for the rest of my life.

Kidnap Isaiah from the NICU.

Teach at an intellectually rigorous institution with rigorous and righteous colleagues, some of whom I kick back with, call brother, listen, learn.

Have a seat at the dinner table with big shots making big decisions, work their ears over wine.

Make love, argue, cry with Nadia after date night, just before dawn, in airplanes, bathrooms, emergency rooms, prisons, the bottom of wells, wherever, however.

Swim in lakes, rivers, seas, baths and pools, run through sprinklers and the rain with Selah.

Kidnap Isaiah from the NICU. Kidnap Isaiah from the NICU. Kidnap Isaiah from the NICU.
